Meditation
Meditation is another one of those enormous words used so ubiquitously who can even be sure what exactly it means. In my experience the less that is said about meditation the better. In a sense, I feel meditation can't even really be taught. I think a lot of people confuse visualization with meditation.
Meditation is a state of mind that we can enter into and become aware of but it's not something we can instantly start doing. We can sit down and focus. We can concentrate. We can visualize. Is that meditation?
To me meditation is falling into that flow state that goes beyond words. Maybe you have felt, maybe you haven't. I think it's something you can train for and invite into your awareness but it seems like it either happens or it doesn't. Pretty strange imo.
When you sit down for what you consider your meditation practice, consider thinking about that more as focus and concentration practice. As far as meditation goes, try to keep an awareness at all times and see if you can allow yourself to sort of float into mental states of meditation rather than sit down and try to force yourself into it.
You might find yourself in a meditative state while in the shower, doing yoga, working, playing music or pretty much any other activity you have some familiarity with.
